Annual meeting of the World Economic Forum

The World Economic Forum (WEF) Annual Meeting is the only yearly gathering that brings together leaders of global society. Around 3,000 participants from all over the world, and from every sphere of influence (business, government, civil society, academia, arts, culture, and media), including from international Geneva, will be convening in in the snow-bound Swiss town of Davos, from 22 to 25 January. The organizers make efforts to make the Annual Meeting more sustainable every year.

With high impact weather, water & climate events happening all over the world, it is no surprising, as highlighted by our colleagues from WMO, that extreme weather, climate change and environmental risks dominate the WEF Global Risks Report. The report, identifying priority areas of action for 2019, was launched ahead of the WEF annual meeting.

This edition also marks the third year that a majority of WEF co-chairs are women, although overall share of female attendees remains less than one in four.

Please note that the list of events and vacancies provided in our weekly newsletter is non-exhaustive. Stay tuned and follow us also on Twitter, Facebook and other social networks, or visit regularly our website for additional updates.
