"The Geneva Environment Network was set up to strengthen positive interactions between environmental organizations and activities and, with a view to sustainable development, to encourage interactions between environmental activities and those relating to social and economic development."

-- Philippe Roch
Former Director, Swiss Agency for the Environment, Forests and Landscape

The Geneva Environment Network (GEN) actively promotes increased cooperation and networking between its members by: organizing and hosting meetings on the environment and sustainable development, such as GEN Roundtables and international workshops, promoting the dissemination of information and public awareness of environmental issues, maintaining a resource centre and cybercafé and providing conference services to the Environment House, and publishing Environment House News, a round-up of topical essays on the environment and sustainable development, and the Geneva Green Guide.
