Group of Experts on Global Energy Efficiency 21

The meeting of the Extended Bureau of the Group of Experts on Global Energy Efficiency 21 will discuss the status of implementation of the UN Development Account project "Promoting energy efficiency investments for climate change mitigation and sustainable development". In particular, the secretariat will review recent developments in the project; share UNECE experience with programmes for training on financial engineering and business planning as well as case studies on policy reforms to promote energy efficiency investments; coordinate upcoming activities; and explore possibilities for enhanced cooperation among UN Regional Commissions on energy efficiency issues.

In addition, participants will be informed on the progress in implementation of the GEE21 sub-project “Analysis of Advanced Technologies in Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy in the Framework of the Global Energy Efficiency 21 Project and Preparation of Recommendations on its Application with Special Emphasis on Central Asian Region” and on the outcomes of the Third International Energy for Sustainable Development Forum.
